Notice that WBT is copying WSB now in the mornings. Spreading the news anchor in pockets throughout the hour, instead of just the top and bottom. They're using the "Depend On It" positioning statement. New v/o liners. A spruce-up that hosts in other dayparts are having trouble with (i.e.: John Hancock, who stutters his way through "teasing" what's coming up on his show. I know what's coming up. More talk of when he was in Colorado.)

WBT - Clock / formatics changes

They really need a new imaging package the station could really use a makeover.
Is anyone who listens to their morning show tired of the endless call letter mentions, live and in their short show IDs and promos each hour? I believe in frequent call letter mentions (although they would seem to be less necessary with Arbitron's PPM technology), but Al and Stacy really seem to overdue it.
Also, one has to wonder if these were changes instituted by Carl East (newly named PD), the new GM or did they come down from Greater Media corporate? I agree - the locally produced (Spencer, NC studio) beds and sounders are definitely stale at this point.

Yeah, I heard those changes. It sounds like WSB, with the good to go slogan, and the frequent traffic reports. WBT does need a new VO. They've sounded the same for the last 5 years.

Not as much of a fan of the change, but for selfish reasons. Wake up with their news and knew I needed to get out of bed after sports. Now with all the teasers and segmented news, it seems kind of disjointed and sports comes much later. Don't get me wrong, I like more real info and less "host blathering" but this is taking a little getting used to.
The sounders were done by me in 2007 with the 85th anniversary, when we dropped the Spencer-produced ones.
Give them a break, be nice.
Lonnie, the voice, sounds great, and he does really well for the station. They're trying to run the station in the cut-back reality of radio economics in 2010. Cut them some slack.

Listening to AL & Stacey go on and on about their perks got really old. They really disconnect themselves easily. I'm glad they're anchors and no longer hosts.
