John Hancock returns to the airshift he left in 1999 when former (idiot) PD Randall Bloomquist put him in "Timeout" for two years that he spent at "The End" before it was swallowed up by the evil Clear Channel.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Bloomquist was an idiot. I think in many ways, WBT is still reeling from the effects of his influence there. And to think - at last check - he's still in this business.

Awesome news! Personally think Hancock deserves this slot and now I won't mind getting stuck in traffic so much. His show is the best one on there.
 
That's wonderful, John, but I won't get to hear much of you on the air, as I am at WKDK during that time. It's about time you got that time slot back !

Congrats to Hancock! It's about time WBT put a mainstay on afternoons, instead of the various afternoon replacements they've been putting in there for the past few years!
 
Good luck John. Listen to you in the 90s doing the mid morn show then the night time show. When I moved to Raleigh could pick you up after sunset. You are very engaging with your audience. Good luck from Ralegh!
 
John, I remember listening to your first day on WBT replacing H.A. Thompson, I think in 1988. You took a lot of heat that day and I thought, this poor guy may not survive this! But you handled it well. And I know you will kill it in your new slot.

I have enjoyed the banter between Mark Garrison and Jon... I remember Mark from WBTV days long ago. One of the WBT female newscasters who was on at night had this fakish voice (the Howell syndrome?) and was difficult to listen to, Mark is great...

Mark Garrison? I remember him from the days when I could actually stand to watch the news. I still see him when they do those "Carolina Camera" specials with the classic stories.
