WBT New Show Noon-3PM

WBT will go live and local stating 6/21/21. It sounds like they may be trying out various hosts but they claim it will be live and local. They will not be going with the Rush replacements. How many other EIB affiliates are planning to do their own thing instead of carrying the new show? The iHeart stations that have carried Rush are all pretty much locked in.

There's only a handful that I'm aware of, mostly run by Entercom: KMOX/St. Louis, and WBEN/Buffalo, along with Cox's WSB/Atlanta.

With maybe a rare exception, the new show from Premiere is not airing on Entercom or Cumulus stations.

There is no actual entity called "EIB". The Clay and Buck show will not be "on the EIB". Cox's stations, other than WSB are carrying a show out of Jacksonville (The Mark Kaye Show). It remains to be seen if Cox stations will be carrying Erick Ericksen. Audacy's KMOX has a local show, but one of their other talk stations in St. Louis is originating the Dana show. It will be interesting to see if any iHeart stations at all will be opting out of Clay/Buck, especially if ratings don't hold up.

No one apparently is willing to try anything other than "All Hail Trump" in that time slot.

I would love to see the Mark Kaye Show expand to our area, it would make a great fit on WBT or WYRD, or perhaps even WGTK.
I would listen every day.
So far they have affiliates in Jacksonville (WOKV), Orlando (WDBO), Dayton Ohio (WHIO), and Tulsa Oklahoma (KRMG).

Dana's show has not aired in St. Louis for quite a few years now. She was originally a local host on Talk 97.1 in St. Louis, then she moved to Texas to have a show on The Blaze. Talk 97.1 briefly aired her syndicated show live, then dropped it for a local show which is still airing.

With Audacy's new deal for Dana, she will return to Talk 97.1 on a delay, although it looks like Premiere will lose a clearance - the only syndicated programs currently airing on the station are Hannity and Coast to Coast.

WYRD is going with Dana Loesch like the other Audacy stations.

No big surprise, given the new ownership at WBT. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the station become more news and less talk.
They will be going live and local with rotating hosts. But I wonder if this will be some sort of audition and eventually a strong host will emerge. For marketing and promotional purposes I would think eventually they would need a specific designated host.
