No real surprise here. Pete is the best talk-show calibre newscaster in the WBT stable. He's intelligent, sensible and conversational . . . probably just what WBT needs in that time slot.

And probably most important these days, not a major assault to the bottom line.

Thursday night, I was listening to WBT, and former Mayor Pat McCrory was doing the talk show, as he had several guests, and talked about city government.

Good move by WBT, getting a news-oriented guy to do talk, while the issues-oriented Servatius is a good fit for afternoon drive.

Good move on BT's part. I've listed to Kaliner for years on the Matt & Ramona show and always thought he's very good in the talk format.
 
I have to agree with the majority here, Pete is very good on the air, and is entertaining too. I am glad they decided to stay local with this selection. It would have been so easy for them to put Boortz back into that slot, and probably less expensive to the bottom line too.

As for local, the best move that BT has made in recent years (yeah I know that is stretching recent) was dumping Dr. Laura and bringing in Keith Larson. Whether you like him or not, (LAMA!!) he is so much better to listen to than Dr. Laura's rude tratement of callers.

Thanks to BT for keeping it local and not cheaping out!
 
WBT and WLNK is garbage..a bunch of rich white repubican idiots and hypocrites that r out of touch with reality..anybody who listens to that is straight retarded..WQNC is the way to go
 
Heard some of McCrory's show the other day and I thought he did quite well, but whoever was engineering the show had James Taylor's "Carolina In My Mind" level up so loud you couldn't make out everything he was saying...
 
Is Tara a strong enough talent to pull afternoon results? She seems to be more of a compliment to the staff than a pillar. Anyone get what I am saying?

And they got rich because people listen! Imagine, a radio station that is successful because it attracts an audience with disposable income. More than you can say for those Air America progressives!
