WBT Traffic

Most big groups have gone to these big traffic centers. Somebody from Charlotte is probably feeding them information and she just voices it. I don't find traffic reports on the radio to be very useful anyway. They only report accidents and traffic here can back up for no reason. Also I have heard them report an accident and gone right through the area seeing nothing. I can only assume the information is way out of date. It's not worth sitting through all the commercials. Get WAZE for your cell phone, much better!

Hello, my name is Nikki Whaley. Yes I am currently living in Dallas, but I hope to move to Charlotte if I manage to land the gig. I have to gather all my information on my own using NCDOT, twitter, and the incident pages. Are there any other sources other than waze you would advise me to use? If you have any feedback or advice, please let me know.

Gee, you would think that a legendary, heritage station like WBT would already have the most up to date, state of the art tools for a prospective employee to use. Since Nikki says she has to gather all of the info on her own, it would be nice to have another employee help her. As I said in previous posts, it would also be nice to have weekend traffic reports like they do on NY's WCBS NewsRadio880, as WBT calls itself a news station. Let's see if any of this happens.

It's not unusual for stations to use outside contractors to provide weekend services. I know a few in markets larger than Charlotte and at stations equally as legendary.
