WBUD Sunday Mornings

It appears that the religious/public affairs show Catholic Corner and Jack Pinto's Breakfast with Frank show has survived WBUD'S format change last Wednesday from MOR/standards to Adult Contemporary.

Im listening to Jack's show now and some problems remain like a song cut short and a new one beginning, and occasional dead air, also at times BUD'S old jingles are still being played. But most of the jingles played are the Unforgettable favorites.

Im pleased that a legend has been retained, and hopefully will continue the show for a long time to come.

I agree that it's nice the Sinatra show is still aired...but the new WBUD is horrible...

Until a week ago, the station still had a decent jingle package. But now the only thing they have to offer is a lame duck with a bland voice who pronounces the word "twelve" like "twualve" and WBUD like Dubya B U D.

It sounds more like a non-profit station than anything else. Maybe they will have a summer fund drive in order to raise money for a new jingle package.

I would have to disagree with the above statement. Unless you were a die-hard fan of the previous WBUD format, I see no reason why you wouldn't particularly care for the "new" Soft AC side of WBUD. I was actually able to catch the station for the first time in a very long time today while travelling around Somerset county. It reminded me of the old "Breeze" days before they got their act together with the "Tri-mulcast." I caught the "Scrapbook Hour" spotlighting 1970 which they said they do everyday. I caught some good tunes... Mark Lindsay "Arizona", Nilson "Everybody's Talkin", and some Sly & The Family Stone too. Not that I was an avid listener of the old 'BUD, but I must say that personally I did enjoy the ABC Satellite feed. And I didn't find the "Liners" all that odd either. If I was in their coverage area I do believe that I would find myself listening quite a bit...I mean I didn't really lose them until the Liberty Corner exit of 287-North.

To each their own I suppose! It is great to see that they left a highly-respected jock in place too!
