WBUF HD-2: MY HD???

Does such a thing exist?? www.hdradio.com says 92.9 HD-2 is "My HD-All Requests", but somehow I think this is something CBS had or planned to do when they owned the station and not something Regent currently has on there. I'm not in the area so I can't tune in. Does anyone up there have an HD Radio to tell me if this channel still exists?

Yes, I just bought an HD Radio. No, the second channel of WBUF is just a simulcast of the main channel right now.
I was thinking of starting a separate thread about all things HD with my experiences so far.

I noticed today that WBEE's HD2 Comedy Channel is just plain gone...my JVC car receiver is saying WBEE only has HD1. Also, WFKL's HD2 is "dead carrier" at the moment...just silence.

On the bright side, I've been rather enjoying WXXI's additional offerings on their HD3 channel. I'm a fan of OnPoint and I like how they stagger rebroadcasts of Marketplace (one of my favorite shows) between the HD2 and HD3 channels, and offer ATC at 8pm which is a time, sadly, that I'm often driving home.

Sad thing HD in this town, they paid all the money through CBS to do it, and Regent wants no part in it!!!

All regent Broadcasts are simulcasts of their analogs. I think this is an ultimatly retarded act by any station in Buffalo.

You would think that any station in buffalo would start their HD-2 format, just to sell advertisers. It's not the case though, everything is being banked on the web, yet NOT ONE STATION understands what it takes to be competitive on the web.

Citadel's websites are close to where I believe radio web is heading, but there needs to be more content, and the GM's/Corp. don't want to shell out the money to hire...not just hire someone who can help on the web, but hire anyone, jocks included.

If radio looked at HD, and the Web, as start-ups it would be a different story. They look at them as something they have to do, instead of something that can compliment the air signal. Ultimate failure!!! Each radio grouped doubled the amount of stations it owns, I would staff each on as a fully functioning station. Let's take Citadel for instance, You have Classic Rock on 97 rock, thier HD-2 station should be a sports talk station, it makes sense having the Bills. 103.3 the edge, could make their HD-2 station and CHR to compete with Kiss, and with WHTT 104.1 they could use that HD-2 channel as a full on Oldies format. I feel that it would balance out the market a little better, and you might actually see competition drive creativity.

They don't want to spend the money, profit above all else, that is the Corporate motto, I wish someone out there would break rank, but everyone is too fearful, it's like the damn Soviet Union out there....
