Thought I'd throw this in for those travelling on I-75 between Lima and Findlay.. I dicovered WBWH-LP "Beavers With Headphones" at 99.3 FM from Bluffton University.
For fans of traditional, progressive and smooth jazz you will find this enjoyable with a little bit of Big Band thrown in...but mostly the jazz oriented bands like Lionel Hampton, Cab Calloway and Count Basie..not much Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman though.
Was listening this morning while driving up to Carey on Good Friday and it started coming in at Beaverdam, and took me all the way up to Findlay and didn't fade out on my car radio until I got to Vanlue.
Only thing I found annoying was a lot of legal IDs on the bottom of the hour and sometimes after every third song played...guess they just want to promote their locality and COL since they're relatively new. Wish they had an email so I can thank them for the jazz programming, although its computerized. Any live specialty programs like be-bop,doo-wop,black gospel or blues? Any audiostreaming in the plans down the road?
Let's hear from you folks at Beaver Radio on this post and let us know wazzup?
Bravo 'BWH!
BTW: Hugh Downs of the original "Concentration," "Today(1960s)" and "20/20" is (I think) a Bluffton alumnus.
