WBYN Flip Tommorrow

> FYI, Should be tomorrow around Noon guys, Thanks

What happened to 04 01 06? I thought THAT was the flip date. This flip has to be one of the most fun I've experienced. The anticipation and suspense and cryptic messages. :)

I'm willing to think/hope it's true. God knows, we need some life on this board...

BUT!!!

It's easy for someone to post as an insider....if they do their homework.

Of course, IF it is NOT the real Mr. Musselman, if that person is sniffed out, they should be in biiiiiiiiig trouble. Isn't that false impersonation/libel/defamation of character???

By the same token, if it is Mr/ Musselman, then game on for the Wolf, judging by the previous post! And, the name alone would indicate country.

Perhaps, they kill 107.5 Alive tomorrow @ Noon, stunt for the rest of the month, then launch the real station 4/1/2006, as previously hinted at?
______________

Re: WBYN Website Flips Tonight!

Checking the WBYN website as of 8:30pm Tuesday the 107.5 Alive logo is gone from the website, and only Alive 1160 is shown. Also, streaming has just been added as an option for the future displaced listeners outside the 1160 range.
Sure looks like 107.5 Alive is going away. Will sponsors in Souderton & telford support a web-only station in their areas? Will there be a rush of Mennonites upgrading their computers for audio? Stay tuned!

Re: WBYN Website Flips Tonight!

If the original poster is legit, he obviously is having fun getting all of us radio geeks charged up, with the cryptic, seemingly-contradictory messages. But there's nothing wrong with that. I'm having fun.

I thought of a possibility if you really want to go deep. Maybe when he said "The wolf is at the door 04 01 06," it was a cryptic way of saying that "The Wolf" coming to 107.5 is an April Fool's Joke, and tomorrow everyone is going to be shocked with a totally different format.

Either that, or Bob's explanation works for me too. I dunno; should be fun!

BTW, don't want to sound picky here, but the big, flashy neon-like link for WBYN's streaming on the website looks a little cheesy to me. No? It looks like something from one of those "you won one million dollars" pop up ads that come up on your computer. LOL How about something a little more refined, like a Bible or a dove or something for the streaming link? Just a suggestion ;-)

Well whatever tomorrow brings can't be worse than the way they were broadcasting today. I usually listen to Money Matters at 3:30 on the way home from work. (Yes I really am a listener at certain times of the afternoon and evening. And yes, I will miss the station. But, I digress.) I tuned in a few minutes early and they had about 3 things going on concurrently. A couple songs and a commercial. Then one song started over. Then dead air. Then 2 commercials at the same time. Dead air. Money Matters finally showed up a couple minutes into the broadcast. Disappeared for a minute or so, and then the volume would increase and decrease. Oh well. See what tomorrow brings. Re: WBYN Website Flips Tonight!

IF WBYN flips the FM with no on-air warning (which as of Wednesday morning has not been mentioned on-air, neither has been the fact they are streaming) the first place some listeners might go is to the website (other than all those who will call the station). If they see the giant streaming button they may listen in there. I'd guess it was made to stand out, maybe they'll change it later.
I'd consider clicking on a Bible as tacky as a flashing sign, but maybe clicking on their logo could work...

Speaking of the logo, I wonder if they'll now use "Alive 1160" on the air as shown on the website for the past few months, or just 'Life Changing Radio"?

Re: WBYN..RDS is now Up & Running

RDS is now up and running as of yesterday afternoon.

It is scrolling...Alive..107 5..WBYN FM......I think that is backwards...Isn't it 107 5 Alive ???

I noted a few days ago about RDS popping up and then disappearing I think it read Russ Tec then.

Also, as someone stated the music kept stopping, there were two songs playing at the same time over each other, dead air, and other strange mix ups going on.

At about 8:45 or so on 107.5, they were "A station for the entire family. WBYN 1160 Life Changing Radio"

If something happens today, I'm thinking WTHK simulcast.

You know, I've been thinking a bit about this.

I had found that Nassau just acquired the domain 1075frankfm.com (on the 24th of February if I remember), and I mentioned finding this in the thread about potential sites for the new format. A kind user "reminded" me (I already knew) that Nassau had a 107.5 Frank FM in Maine, but their website was 1075frank.com. When I found the domain, it didn't resolve to anything. Later, it resolved to mirror 1075frank.com, leading the correcting poster (and myself) to believe that this was just another domain purchased for the Frank in Maine. Which is kind of odd considering the timing of purchase, but I'll give that one up.

Now, take a look at 1075frankfm.com. It looks like somebody did some tweaking with the chmod, no? They've restricted public access.

I'm not convinced 1075thewolf.com is Nassau's.

I think I might be going back to my thought that it's going to be Frank; I'm curious to see where the site will point when they open it back up.
______________

When I first read your post I was thinking, "what the heck are they talking about?" That's because I was looking at wbyn.com, which oddly apparently isn't a mirror of the main site. I'm guessing this will be their primary address when the move is "complete?"

EDIT: At 10:35AM it's fixed.
