The past 3 days, while watching the Patriots and Jeopardy on WBZ, they have run a ticker during programming. I have a couple of bones to pick about it:
- WHY does the ticker always include a very annoying “Duh-duh-duh, dun, dun, da-dun….” sound? It’s absolutely unnecessary? During the Alex Trebek era, when this ticker appeared during Jeopardy (typically when the categories were revealed), it clashed really bad with Alex Trebek’s voice.
- Why does it cover up graphics? During the Patriots game on Sunday, it covered up the score and game clock. During yesterday’s Jeopardy episode, it covered up the returning champions win streak and money earned. See the photo below.
- WHY do these tickers NEVER air during a commercial break? In the case of the Patriots game, this ticker always appears right after the commercial break during the 2-minute warning. It could run during the ads and not block the clock. In the case of Jeopardy, the same thing. Run it during the commercial break or run an ad explaining why the show will air on WSBK instead of WBZ.
