am guessing he means Big Brother Bob Emery.

From that TVParty page:"Bob Emory, who hosted "The Big Brother Show" on WBZ, Channel 4, Boston, in the '50's and '60's. He was a Boston radio and television celebrity for decades. He headed a club known as "The Small Fry Club".

I remember him in the '50's, having us salute the flag with a glass of milk. We would drink the milk as he played, "Hail to the Chief", and he showed a portrait of President Eisenhower. Sometimes he would gather the kids around and talk or sing... He would play a ukulele or banjo. I believe he read the comics at times. "

great show!

Enjoyed Ch. 4's Boomtown tribute==great footage and memories. Many local
TV and radio people seen (Sullivan, Glick, J. Cain, Donna Halper,
Levanchy, etc.)

Yes, I did mean "Big Brother-Bob Emery", at 12;15, weekdays on WBZ-TV.

BTW-The "Toast to the President" was also a plug for United Farmers milk, it was one of his sponsors. I recall now and then "BB" would do a visit or walk-on on "Boomtown".

Since we're on the Boomtown topic, I wonder what Hubert the swan is doing these days? I don't get WBZ-TV(I can't bring myself to refer to it CBS4) so I could not see the special, maybe this was addressed?!

it WAS a great show!

I agree! I wish I had realized in advance that it was on - I would have taped it.
I was one of those many kids who was on Boomtown - as well as Big Brother (so young, I do not remember THAT...) and Bozo.

The very idea that every station in a top-ten market is not doing a local kids' show anymore -- disgraceful. No excuse. None.
