WBZ AM's internet stream is wacky...

Wacky how?

The internet broadcast has ad inserts that cut off the top of the hour identification. But that's not the wacky part. The wacky part is, the spots will cut up the ID. So you'll hear this:

"WBZ, WB-(30 second Spot insert, a CBS radio promo, etc)Z-F(Another 30 second spot fires off, more promos, etc). HD-3. " And the rest of the regular stream resumes.

That's wacky.

it sounds like the clock on the streaming automation isn't in sync with the WBZ master clock.

I have Comcast's local insertion cut out 3 seconds late all the time here on my cable system.

I've heard a similar TOH mess on the WPHT/Philadelphia stream, as well. All in the family!

A lot of internet streams are funky. Before dropping the show all together last year Entercom's WBEN 930 out of Buffalo used to carry Dr. Joy 10PM-1AM. I used to listen online. All was good. Then Entercom decided to change streaming providers and all hell broke loose. The internet commercial breaks would last too long and they'd go back to Dr. Joy in mid-call or on more than one occasion they went to break at about :17 after the hour and didn't even go back to Dr. Joy until after the break at half past the hour!

One Sunday afternoon I was listening to Kim Komando on the stream from some station somewhere down south and the stream was something like 7-10 minutes behind real time. At first I thought maybe my connection was slow and rebuffered a few times, but a couple other people had noticed the same thing with the Network News and then local news starting at something like 7-10 minutes after the Top of the Hour and the local news anchor giving the time as a time close to the Top of the hour.
