WBZ and WSBK off air 4/8

The Necrat tower photo site "http://www.necrat.us/bztower.html" (not completely up-to-date, since analog is still listed) - shows WBZ, WCVB, WGBX, and WSBK all on the master antenna at the top, and WGBH as on a separate antenna below it. The chart on that page also lists an auxiliary antenna far down the tower for WCVB, with 1/3 the ERP. It they lost the master, the feedline, or something in the combiner, then it would fit the current status - WGBH normal and WCVB weak, all others off.

I beg to differ. The page is up to date. All the analog antennas remain on the tower. They may not be radiating, but they still exist.
When (or if) they are taken down, then I will list it as such. (I will, however, keep the analog licensed info up for historical purposes)

From the bits and pieces i've read, they have eliminated the combiner, and it is either the transmission line or antenna.
The antenna system is a "stacked" UHF. There are two UHF antennas on the pole.
From what I Understand the lower UHF antenna is designed to handle the "1st adjacents" as Dielectric was unable to properly combine/isolate the two 1st adjacents into the one combiner. Hence Analog 44 and Digital 19 are on the lower half.
(WGBX DT 43 and WCVB DT 20 are on the upper antenna). But I don't know accurate that is...

My apologies, you have a wonderful site. My impression was that the CBS Tower page might date back to 2009 when the analog antennas were actually in use, since there was no reference to "legacy", etc. Do you know if the WCVB auxiliary antenna is a leftover from the early digital broadcasting from the 90's? If so, it gave WCVB an effectively "free" backup.

Everyone except WGBH:2-19 (including their cable signal) are now back on, full power, a/o 1:55pm.
I believe WGBX:44-43 was on with subdecodably reduced power, yesterday around 4:25pm, but was off again by 8:10pm.

Thank you for the kind words. If you look at the pictures, you can see when the antenna was painted in 2010. I returned up there in late 2010 to get pictures of the WYDN antenna and WKLB's antenna. I do need to make it clearer though.

I'll have to find out on the WCVB antenna.
