WBZ-DT Cashiers One Reporter, Hires Another

Award-winning former WBZ-DT reporter Ron Sanders was shown the door about two months ago. Now the station has hired a younger, less-experienced and probably less-expensive reporter, Diana Perez from WVIT-TV in Hartford, CT. (Interesting move: WVIT's "virtual" channel is channel 30; WBZ-DT ACTUALLY broadcasts on channel 30). Let's see...an older white guy replaced by a younger minority hire.

To what station are you referring, Laurence? There is no station in Boston licensed under the callsign "WBZ-DT."

If you're talking about Boston's CBS-owned TV station, its callsign is "WBZ-TV":

(See, two can play this persnickety game... ;D )

I'll see your "persnickety" and raise you a "punctilious": even after WEVF-FM 90.3 in Colebrook, NH got a license to cover, NHPR is STILL including its old translator W209BK in Colebrook during l-o-n-g station IDs.

...and she started in mid-March!
