WBZ Fan site?

Let's face it, while WBZ AM is still a great radio station today (at least to some of us), and while WBZ TV has been nice enough to change their name back to their original name sake, the two stations bear little resemblence to the Group W Westinghouse WBZ stations that most of us grew up with in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Meanwhile, all the great stuff from both stations is out there on the internet. But you have to look for it. Just about every WBZ TV 4 open I can think of is posted somwhere on Youtube. Likewise, there's tons of WBZ airchecks and WBZ playlists (FM ones too) available. But it's all scattered all over the place.

So, just like with WRKO, (as in WRKo_Org) is anyone interested getting together a WBZ site? I just don't have the resources to do it, but I had the idea and perhaps a few of you (hopefully all) would be interested in discussing what it would take and maybe getting something going. What do you think?

Everythings out there, let's get it all in one place!
 
WBZ was a great station. I listened to Bruce Bradley faithfully when I was much, MUCH younger.
A 60's, 70's, 80's "BZ" site is a good idea.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of Bruce Bradley Today?
 
It would be quite a project to take on, but I think once completed, there would be a genuine interest in it. WBZ dates back to the beginning of radio, so there is A LOT of information to gather, sort out, and catalog. Lots of research, but maybe with many hands on the project, it could be very well assembled. I hope someone will take to the challenge!

Yesss!!!

Many a night in here in the Chicago area during my teen years flipping my transistor between Biondi on 'LS and Bradley/Summers (sp?) on 'BZ (with a more-than-respectable nighttime signal). I wasn't alone....WBZ had its own following here. I think because they tended to be a week or so ahead in getting new releases on.

I am working with the folks at WBZ radio (Peter Casey, the station webmaster, and others) to up-date and improve the WBZ website, but a fan site would be very cool. I have assorted pictures and a timeline I'd be happy to contribute.

Now all we need is a domain name, someone to webmaster it (sorry, not me) and a few hundred gigs of host space...

Anyone?

Taking it one step further, it is way past time for a Boston Radio fansite that goes beyound what bostonradio.org does.

But I would be willing to help on a WBZ fanpage
