WBZ legend Bruce Bradley Passes

I just read that one of my favorite AM Top 40 favorites, Bruce Bradley, died on June 24th at 79.

Bruce was the evening DJ on WBZ in Boston in the early and mid 1960's, and "Juicy Brucey" was a one of the best of the era.

I still remember him playing the Beatles almost a full year earlier than anyone else.

I'm sure radioman148 remembers Bruce...

I certainly do. I listened to "Juicy Brucie" many nights in the early and mid 60s on WBZ. I still have one or two airchecks laying around. He always was a fun listen. Of course Dick Biondi played the Beatles on WLS as early as Feb 1963, but Bruce definitely jumped on them pretty quick.

Sorry to hear this. He was a very entertaining and witty guy. In particular, for me, he was able to bring the feel and atmosphere of a New England beach right on through to my teenaged self in the landlocked Midwest on a regular basis with his broadcast from "The Surf at (forget the name of town"...maybe somebody else remembers).

I also remember hearing him years later, when he was in St. Louis doing talk.
