wbz past talk show host question

I am horrible at names but perhaps someone could refresh my memory. I am trying to remember the names of the host on WBZ that served between 1995 through 97 week nights between say 600:pm and midnight. I am trying to remember the gentleman's name and cannot but i know he was there in 97 on the evening shift.

Thanks

No, I liked Brudnoy too. I am not thinking of Brudnoy, I left the east coast about Oct of 97 and I believe at that time the gentleman was still on the weeknight evening shift and I am certain who I am thinking of show ended about midnight. I want to say 9- midnight time frame. This is very frustrating.

Now I cannot say for sure. Do you have any other evening talk show host names to throw at me from the mid 90's?. I dont think he was a PD. I say that only because I remember him saying he was concerned he was going to be "on the beach " ( meaning laid off / replaced ) Throw some more evening talk show host names at me from the mid to late 90's

I could be off on time too. Who I am thinking of could have been there working evevings as early as 93-94. But I know damn well he was there 96-97

Brudnoy was there and when he cut back, Paul Sullivan came aboard.
Is that who you are looking for ?

Accoriding to Wikipedia ". David Brudnoy, spotted Sullivan and recruited him for WBZ radio. He began working as a talk show host for WBZ in 1999. Upon his death, Dan Rea took over his time slot where the show was renamed Nightside.

If this statement is true this cannot be who I am thinking of

If this is true than no sir..cannot be who I am thinking of

Was Steve Leveille filling in for Brudnoy for awhile while Brudnoy was very ill? There may have been a time when Brudnoy was on but only for a few hours each night with another host up till midnight. Wiki. says Sullivan's brain tumor (maybe Sullivan was the other host after Brudnoy
during this time?) was discovered shortly before Brudnoy's death in 04 and Sullivan stepped
down in 07 a few months before his death...during the interim Jordan Rich and Rea filled in.

Fybush's NERW may help, use that in a search engine. For example typing Fybush WBZ Brudnoy gets me this page from 05:
>>Paul Sullivan, heir to Brudnoy's evening hours, is recovering from his treatment for a brain tumor. Sully was greeted with hearty applause when he stepped on stage at the Brudnoy memorial, and he confirms that he'll be back in his 8-midnight slot Monday night, followed by the return of Steve LeVeille to his usual overnight slot after months of filling in in the evenings. With that, WBZ will finally have a "normal" nighttime talk schedule for the first time since Brudnoy's death

(So, Leveille was doing Brudnoy's slot for awhile and I'm not sure who was covering overnights.)

Wiki.:
>>He started broadcasting in Boston as a substitute talker on WRKO in 1996. Sullivan would later appear on a TV news roundtable on WCVB called "Five on Five." It was on this show that a popular WBZ talk show host, David Brudnoy, spotted Sullivan and recruited him for WBZ radio. He began working as a talk show host for WBZ in 1999.

Note also: "Paul Sullivan is not to be confused with another well known Lowell native. Paul Thomas Sullivan was born in Lowell, Mass on August 14, 1943 and, while in high school and college, worked as a radio news announcer and reporter for WLLH and as a correspondent for WBZ and THE BOSTON GLOBE."

Bensaquin or poss' Lou Marcel, a short timer after move to 12-5am?

I think the order is: The Dean, Guy Manilla, LaPierre (briefly) Bensaquin, Criss Cross, Marcel, Meade, Brudnoy, Tom Snyder, Bruds #2,Sullivan, Rea. Must be leaving someone out?

Ah, could you be way off on time? 8)
How about David Finnegan?:

Calling All Sports was also dropped in favor of an early evening talk show, hosted at various points by David Finnegan, Lou Marcel, and Peter Meade.

Finnegan began his media career in 1979 as host of The Dave Finnegan Show on WBZ Radio. He subsequently hosted Weekend with Dave Finnegan on WNAC-TV. He gave up both of his shows to run for Mayor in 1983.

you guys are awesome. I maybe off on time as far as when my man started, but like I say he was working the evening shift 96-97 from about 9 to midnight. Let me do some research on names I have

Chris Cross I used to know his real name was the APD. He left BZ and went to KDKA. He did a lot of fill in work and had his own weekend shift for a while. BTW. He was a real low life. Upper management was none to happy the day two Sheriff's showed up in the lobby to serve him with papers for failure to pay child support.

I think BlackRoc has the timeline correct. Although Glick was in there from 9 to 1 or 10 to 2 before leaving

I loved listening to Glick, Meade, Brudnoy, Norm Nathan, Who remembers Peter Meade and Friday night and the fights? ( late 80's ).

I see some names I am in doubt about as far as who they are and what their time slots were and when served. Bob Raleigh, Bob Lobel
