WBZH Harriman Sold

Southern sells the Harriman FM for $2.4M. Progressive owns WIFA Faith 1240 in Knoxville. How can they recoup that kind of money from a fringe FM?

Simple, they'll run paid religion. The preachers will pay for their airtime in advance, and the profits will start rolling in. It's really a shame. I liked WBZH after it dumped the southern gospel format on WUFX. However, I never could figure out how Southern made anything off of it. The commercials were few and far between, and the product was recently changed to sound more like sister station WLSQ 105.7. The writing was on the wall, unfortunately.

They bought three stations for 1.5 million and sold one for 2.4 million...I guess that's how they made money?

Apparently so! After all, there wasn't much of a way they could have made money operating it!
