SO now that B103 is "New York's only oldies station" when are they going to get serious about protecting their license???? This morning I was moving the cars in my driveway on the south shore of Nassau County and that hatian pirate from Brooklyn @ 103.1 was stepping all over B103. And that's not even the most powerful of the bunch , the pirate at 104.7 reaches even further east.

Protecting the license? I thought why we had the FCC?
Many of these new pirates have nasty surprises awaiting visitors...that's why the FCC conduct raids using local police or government issue jack-booted troopers.

The FCC only goes after officially registered (mailed) complaints AND only after both parties have tried to resolve the issues first by themselves.
As far as I know, B103 is not licenced to reach Brooklyn or Queens. Technically and legally, I would believe they have no solid arguement against what's happening to their signal in the city.
However locally, is another story. If a pirate station beams a directional signal into Nassau and Suffolk on their channel and causes intentional and malicious interferance, there's a lot B103 can do about it. I'm sure their legal department is well in tune to it (no pun intended).

Complaints can be phoned in to the FCC. You can do it. Tey may require something in writing via fax, since some cases get run up the legal chain. But, its important to note the FCC will investigate. They do not wait for you to get involved with the pirate.
Regardless of where the pirate is in relation to WBZO's coverage area, WBZO still has weight, and can complain themselves.
