All of this talk about 96wave lately has had me thinking....it's surprising that CC keeps 96.7 The Buzzard in Greenville around. The numbers have been flat for ages and in the Winter book, they slipped below a 1 share 12+ for the first time I can remember. Are WESC, WSSL, and to some extent, WMYI so successful that it's not a priority? They're only 700 watts but the signal is pretty good all around Greenville. Is there really room for a third rock station with powerhouses like The Planet and WROQ? Now there's even Charlie playing some rock.

I wanted them to go Oldies after WGVC flipped, but I guess that's not even worth thinking about (CC did just launch Oldies in Portland, though). Any thoughts??

I think the signal is so weak that like you say it's not a priority. I can't really get it that great in Spartanburg. The ratings don't look that bad I think considering it's only 700 watts.

If it went oldies there's too much of a chance it would hurt WMYI.

I didn't really think about WMYI....CC does have Oldies and AC in the same markets in some other places though (Citadel does in Columbia too). WMYI has been having trouble lately, though and it wouldn't be smart to damage it further.

Here's a new CC Oldies station that shares a market with an AC that is very good. http://www.kool1059.com
Been listening online and it helps with the withdrawl!
