It is short-spaced because of 105.9 in Hartford CT. In 1981 (the furthest back my records go) the 105.9 frequency was assigned to Newark, NJ. The HAAT was 390' with and ERP of 10,000 watts. Their signal is now equivalent to 25,000 watts at 328 feet -- so they are probably a little better off
Also in 1981, WHCN in Hartford 105.9 operated at a HAAT of 740' with an ERP of 19,000 watts.
In the other direction, I'm surprised that the FCC allowed Philadelphia to get class B stations at 100.3 and and 101.1, instead of making those stations operate at B1 power to protect WVNJ 100.3 and WCBS FM 101.1
There is nothing but a mess between those two cities on those frequencies
