WCBS 880 on weekends

During a long day of driving this past Saturday, I listened to WCBS 880 and noticed that they were running pre-recorded news. Not newscasts, but simply pre-produced segments of previously-aired reports and interviews separated by sweepers and liners–some of which identified the segments as "WCBS 880 Weekend Magazine". The only live element was traffic and weather on the 8s.

Apparently WCBS has been doing this automated programing on weekends for a while. I've heard since October, after baseball season ended. Overnights and most weekend news hours are now on Memorex.
