WCBS AM

Whatever it is, they should keep doing it. WCBS performs extremely well the most relevant measure...billing.
You can't argue with their results.

For those who prefer WINS' approach, I just read on the other board that WINS is about to have an extreme style makeover, with new headline music, as well as "a different mix for each headline, sports, traffic, weather... etc." and a faster pace due to declining PPM numbers.

This concerns me, as they've had the same top hour/20 after/40 after ids since 1993 or so. I knew something was up when they stopped having the Accuweather guys give brief forecasts after each headline rundown. Not to mention now they just stopped saying "More people wake up to 1010 WINS than to any other station in the nation" as they have for a long time.

They're dumbing down the station for PPM morons. Doesn't matter that it was in Top 3 in billing, lets f--k it up!

Billing lags ratings by 6, 8 even 12 months. So if a defect is spotted, it is corrected based on the ratings so that billing will not be affected in the long run.

WINS is not "dumbing down the station for PPM mornons." PPM data has been available since October of 2007... so this is just an adjustment that may be more related to chaning times, interests and such.
