WCBS FM Big Jay "Live" Overnight

I'm usually not up this early on Saturday morning, but Big Jay sounds great doing what appears to be a live overnight shift on WCBS FM. I was under the impression that WCBS FM did voice tracked shows overnight, this is a nice treat! He also just announced that he will be back on overnights next weekend too. This is great news!

BTW, I am a huge fan of Big Jay, he really does a nice job!! Would be nice if he got a regular shift, even if it is overnights on weekends.

I heard some of Big Jay too early sat morning and he did sound great. It was good hearing a live show during the night on CBSFM again.

I was pleasantly surprised last night (or should I say this morning) when I turned on CBS-FM just before 3 AM, and heard the "101 Weather" jingle followed by Big Jay giving the forecast. If this is permanent, it's certainly a great move!

Big Jay's website says he will be appearing next Friday AND Saturday night (Saturday and Sunday morning) in the overnight slot. Not sure about tonight.

I would guess that CBS-FM won't be carrying the syndicated "Rewind with Gary Bryan" anymore?

Any time I can hear Big Jay on the radio is a good time! :)

Have we confirmed if they're live shifts or tracked?

According to his web site, Big Jay is doing these shifts again next weekend (8/11-8/12). Hopefully, things will settle in at CBS-FM with Joe Causi at night, Big Jay on weekend overnights and permanent slots for Charlie Burger and Al Bernstein on weekends. Quite a lineup even with the loss of Bob Shannon.
