WCBS-FM.com Playing Spots

Not just a few either. I think they had a break with about three minutes of paid spots and one minute of PSA. One spot was played twice with a different one sandwiched in between.

I don't mind the spot break, but I hope they can be reasonable and limit breaks to no more than two minutes and play at least three songs before a break.

Now that they are playing spots, how about getting live disc jockies? I don't expect to hear Bruce Morrow but it would be nice to have somebody on there. They do not have to pay very much. I and many others would be glad to do it for almost nothing.

jukebox format stations don't intend to hire jocks ever. it's against their premise or am i wrong?

If they want to keep it automated for now until the Oldies HD2 101.1 signal gets launched for nyc i can understand that. But however after CBSFM establishes the oldies on 101.1 HD2 Signal they should hire a lot of the CBSFM DJS back and re-insert the pumpy reverb sound too. Also i've been on station websites i found on search engines and some of them for example like www.wbul.org have 2 kinds of streams, 1 is for hi-fi where the station stream is at 64-128kbps for cable/dsl/t1 users and the 2nd one is for low-fi that streams at a much lower bitrate for dialup users, this is something wcbsfm.com should have on their website have the station logos and say click this icon for hi-fi wcbsfm.com oldies stream or click this icon for lowfi wcbsfm.com stream. this would work and it would be great especially since they would be serving all internet listeners instead of streaming it at a low tinny quality for everyone which dont make sense.

I'll bet you a dollar and a donut that CBS-FM won't put the same jocks on when and if oldies hits their hd2 signal. There's been too much bad press with how those guys were treated. Can you imagine getting canned over the phone? at least one ex-CBSFM jox was diddled this way. That's pretty poor if you ask me. Would they do this to Stern?
