WCBS-FM Drops "Beatles Wednesday" (But For How Long?)

Being as it's Wednesday, I recalled listening at the top of the 4 AM and 5 PM hours, and not hearing the "Beatles Wednesday" feature. I wonder if they're only doing away with it temporarily for the holiday book, or if they've scrapped it completely. I guess we'll find out in about four weeks.

I assume it's just for this week. They're giving the Beatles a rest for today and featuring the Rolling Stones instead.

EDIT: And it's only at the bottom of the hour, not at both the top and bottom as it usually is with the Beatles.

they said a rest for the Beatles, they decided Rolling Stones, I hope they go back to the Beatles, I never get tired of that music :) We love you Beatles, O Yes we do!!!

I've written in the past on the Tampa board about how their variation of CBS-FM, Q105, is in the midst of a "Beatles overkill" period (search that phrase on the Tampa board and you'll find the thread), yet I've noticed that even Q105 has curbed it somewhat in recent months. Conversely, I don't mind much a CBS-FM doing a weekly Beatles segment - they're number 1, so they can get away with it.

The Beatles popularity transcends the generations. People who were not born when the group broke up in 1970 are big fans of theirs. I am glad when WCBS-FM and other radio stations play Beatles rarities.

Should the time come when oldies classic hits stations start paring away the '60's tracks, you'd best believe they're not touching the Fab Four.
