Well as it is being debated nationally...the day the music died 6/3/05.....it is not only the "oldies" its the turning point of personality radio...I grew up with guys like Dan Ingram, Harry Harrison, Joe Mc Coy, Cousin Brucie..etc etc...while I think these we play anything stations will eventually personalize4 themselves...they are trying to take marconi's invention and try to make it into steve job's ipod. btw this past friday apple stock tanked due to the fact ipod batteries and the units themselves are not living up to expectation and sales dropped significantly last 1/4. Expand the playlist..and have good dj's exercising prep moderation and concentration and you can win.......for those of us left standing in the mature formats.....the race got more enduring.....the only other big radio event like this was in 79-80 when all the pd's dropped jingles and starting rolling songs and talkups out of clusters....the jingles came back pretty quickly......
