WCBS-FM TOP 20 COUNTDOWN REMEMBERS 2/8/1971

I have not followed the countdown shows as closely as I once did. Back in the earlier days they would make a substitution if they felt that a hit on the WABC survey was "not consistant with their format." Once in a great while they would skip a record since they just couldn't get a copy of it.

WCBS-FM would never use a survey from another city. If they didn't use WABC or WMCA, they would use a Billboard national chart.

I am sure that Andrea will agree with me on this.

I'm glad that you consider me such an authority when it comes to ALL things WCBS-FM AND New York radio, Bruce ;) - and yes, I DO agree with you, darlin... :-*

And to my knowledge, CBS-FM never used a countdown outside of the Billboard Charts or the two local legendary Top 40 stations of the 60's & 70's.

Thanks,
