This year WCBS-FM's Top 500 Labor Day Countdown sounds fantastic, I think this is the first time this countdown has been taken from votes from the New York audience.

For years WCBS-FM had countdowns where listeners had to send in postcards to vote for their three favorites. I believe in 2007 there was an online method for voting. I am not a "chart guy". If I enjoy a hit, it does not matter to me what number it is.

And for those keeping score at home, "In The Still of the Night" and "Earth Angel", the perennial No. 1 and No. 2 finishers during those years, finished on this countdown at Nos. 9 and 30, respectively.
