He'[ll be on 2 to 7pm Sunday and im unclear if thats it for him this Sunday or sunday 2 to 7 is all he gets moving forward. in one social media post, he says hes been downsized. But he later said sunday 2 to 7...

Thank you for the info it’s sad to see this happening to good people. He was part of my trip to work
 
So is the Sunday shift he'll apparently be doing today live, or did they have him voice-track it in advance to prevent anything management doesn't like from airing?

Is there any indication he's live or does he sound canned today? Can't imagine the boss regularly pulling a seven day week. (Unless he's taking all of next week off, for whatever reason.)

Assume he was live yesterday, and live today, and then does his normal Monday-to-Friday. That's a 12 day stretch, plus he's got all his other, off-the-air duties. That's a burnout schedule. Many of us have had to pull a schedule like that in a crunch, but combined with an AM Drive air shift he's not going to sound very energetic on air for long.

Back when WOR-FM, and then WNEW-FM, launched back in the '60s, the air staff routinely were heard 7 days a week. But they also pre-taped two of those shows, so they really were only working five actual days each week. You could spread out the recording sessions over the other 5 days so it wasn't onerous. But those guys also weren't the program director. (Except, eventually, Scott Muni at 'NEW, but by then they had enough staff not to need the "five live, two taped" schedule anymore.) But that's sixty freakin' years ago and it's a different world.

I used to hear prerecorded shifts like that on WDRC-FM Hartford during its oldies years. Weekenders would do a couple of shifts live, but the others were either the weekday crew prerecorded or autopilot jukebox.

It appears like matt is left with just Sunday shifts and thats it

Matt has been voicetracked for awhile, doing shows form home, the beach, etc but from what i gather, usually day in the moment, like no long before it actually airs
 
The Morning show is boring with Just John Fox. No interaction really with Producer Heather Bermudez (not sure if she’s still even there). The 30 second song challenge isn’t the same without Annie. interested to see what the ratings will be with all these changes
 
Does WCBS-FM still need to ad the suffix -FM since the demise of WCBS 880? I know their brand is "CBS-FM" and that won't change; but is anything stopping their legal id to be WCBS New York?
 
As was said above, "CBS-FM" has been their brand way way back to the days of, for lack of a better term, chicken-progressive rock. That's 1969, 56 years ago. Sooner or later they're going to need to abandon the WCBS-FM calls, according to the sale/acquisition agreement between Entercom and CBS Corp. when the CBS radio station group transferred ownership. So given both those facts, not to mention the extra, unnecessary expense, really, why bother?
