WCBS-TV Digital Translator on Long Island

Is anybody here receiving the WCBS-TV digital translator? I believe it's licensed to Plainview, NY and it uses channel 22. They've had to do this, due to interference from WFSB-TV (CBS) channel 3 of Hartford, especially in Fairfield County and portions of Long Island. Both they and WCBS use channel 33 for their digital signals. Who at the FCC allowed that decision? ???

Sadly, this is just another demonstration of how they screwed the pooch when the DTV transition.

You're trying to tell me the FCC couldn't predict this? It's bad enough I can't get one single OTA signal now as opposed to the old analog days.

Sigh

I keep checking channel 22 once in a while, but I don't get anything on it. I'm wondering if the translator is even on.

I'm too far away from it here in southern Hartford County. Besides, IF I were to get any digital signal on channel 22 now, it would be that of WGBY-TV (PBS) channel 57 of Springfield, MA. Their Mount Tom site in Holyoke, MA is about 40 air miles to my north. Their signal was crap in the analog days. :(

So, I checked channel 22 last night, and it's on! I don't know when it was turned on, but the translator is on now.
