WCCC changes branding

I know it was mentioned earlier, but this week I finally saw the new logo. WCCC-FM is now "Rock 106.9."

Meh.

If they get the ratings, great!

As a musician, I long for a new wave of rock that appeals to multiple rock audiences. Unfortunately, I think that the fractioning of the rock audience has permanently relegated us to the internet to find new bands that fit the mold of our very tight niches.

Maybe rock found a home on FM solely because there was no internet?

Since the beginning of rock 'n roll, it's never TRULY found a home on a mainstream platform. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be.

It seems more like that rock fans are finding a home on the internet because radio is constantly abandoning the rock listener. Also, thanks to the internet, they are also finding a way to directly make their dissatisfaction known in a way that inaccurate Arbitron ratings don't show. It's funny to see that the WCCC facebook page is still full of people who are saying how much the station sucks now. You think that someone would be smart enough to find a way to find a way to profit off a passionate fanbase of rock music. You know, since everyone here is always harping on how "radio is a business" and all that.

My listening trends have definiantly changed with CCC gone This how I'm dealing. I dont even bother tuning in to WCCC which is very sad for me to say
Spotify mostly
94.3 the Shark occassionally
105 T-O-S when I am Maine, VT & NH 2ndly, 94.3 WCYY
Lazer 99.3 in MA & northern CT
FMS on 102.3 WBAB Sunday nights 9-11pm
99.1 WPLR (has trouble in Greeniwch/Stamford)
Radio 104 (cant get in Greenwich) but listen to when in Central ct occasionally

online streams:
The Metal Mad Man radio show
Radio Pub app:
96.3 the Blaze. Love the station it is like WCCC and does constant Events like WRKI does (wish we has a station like this!) but Cell (service) Data sucks even on Verizon! especially in Old Greenwich or near the coat still on phones to be able to listen constantly so I end up not listening a lot of timesbecause of this.

WCYY-FM 94.3 of Biddeford/Portland is a cool station. I usually check them out when visiting Portland. They sound a lot like Radio 104.1 does here.
