WCCR fund raising days

The talk stations that have national / non-local hosts provided by a network or syndicator are required to carry network ads as compensation for providing the show. The network, then, sells ads which the affiliated stations have to carry. The station does not share in that revenue.
The local station does NOT carry any syndicated shows and it's all music, except for America in the Morning @ 5 or 5:30 AM and the CBS news break. But it's the same damn national ads night after night after night, ad infinitum.

WAKR still has to clear a certain amount of CBS Radio News spot loads per hour, and make-goods are easily buried in overnights. CBS is in a situation where a lot of their affiliates are talk stations, thus, the lower-quality national ads as blue-chip advertising won't want to associate with conservative talk (the Wall Street Journal Radio Network indirectly died due to the Rush-Sandra Fluke fiasco for this exact reason).
