WCDJ-FM Gets Power Boost

WCDJ-FM 102.3, licensed to Truro on the Cape of Cod, got an authorization from the FCC to boost its power to 3,000 watts H&V at about 130 feet. WKLB will love that.

Its no worse than 93.5 (93.7), 94.3 (94.5), 103.9 (104.1). It probably won't impact WKLB as much as those do their respective stations, since it will be lower. 28 feet above the ground is very low!

Isn't the height reported on the FCC website Height Above Average Terrain?

with 3000 watts Ron Robin should get Proviencetown and Orleans. Wont get too much of Mid-Cape at 130 ft HAAT.

AGL of only 28ft but HAAT is 134ft ??? The lower Cape is mighty flat...where exactly is this transmitter site? It's got to be on top of a hill or something.

WKLB 102.5 won't see a whole lot of 1st adjacent interference EXCEPT along the south shore's coast of Cape Cod Bay. Those people will indeed see interference shooting across the bay from WCDJ. But a lot of them aren't even within WKLB's protected service contour so technically WKLB has no recourse. Although I suppose if WKLB listeners from Scituate and northward are complaining, then WKLB could file a petition to deny WCDJ's license to cover.

I hope it doesn't come to that, though...looks like WCDJ's CP will give them comparable coverage to WOMR, which is just enough to be a viable broadcast entity.
