106.3, True Country seems to claim Lafayette as part of its coverage area. I have real problems believing that. Can anyone confirm or deny my suspicions?

I can't speak for the True Country version of the station, but when they were CD 106.3, they were using the Crawfordsville/Lafayette ID. What Key in Crawfordsville doesn't seem to understand is despite the fact that 106.3 puts out a better overall ERP than 103.9, the station does not penetrate the Lafayette/West Lafayette area the same way 103.9 does (though a weaker station, 103.9's tower is taller and is situated half-way between Crawfordsville and southern tip of Lafayette proper). That's why CHR never took off for 106.3 in Lafayette before a CHR format existed in Lafayette (plus, the quality of "Hot 106.3" was very, very poorly executed). If they were to aim any of their stations toward the Lafayette market, it should be 103.9, but that would mean doing away with Montgomery county sports and doing another format that's not being duplicated (more or less) by two other stations in Lafayette.
