WCEV AM 1450 to close down

Any news on WCEV? It seems to me if WRLL truly wanted to take over WCEV's hours, that would have already happened. If Migala still had paid programs on the station, why did they decide to suspend operations?

WRLL can't just take over the hours, unless they buy the time from WCEV or buy WCEV's license. They are two separately-licensed stations. If WCEV were to turn in their license, I suppose WRLL could then apply for full-time operation.

as to your last question.. simple.. $$ probably not enough of it and just getting to the point where they didn't want to run a radio station after so many years

Other than Good Morning Ireland, it appears that most of the other paid programs on WCEV were Spanish. That's a big change from 25 years ago, but seems to reflect demographic shifts in WCEV's coverage area.
