WCGV-24 to be "My Network" TV

Reading in the National TV posts, someone linked a list of Sinclair stations signing up with "My Network" TV.

However Sinclair isn't expressing the idea of going with "The CW". There are indications that WMLW-LP ch. 41 might pick up "The CW".

If that is the case, the Milwaukee Bucks games will move to WVTV-18 next year.

So, let's assume that by this coming fall, it's:

WCGV 24- My Network TV
WMLW 41- The CW
WVTV 18- Independent

Would Weigel still want WJJA at that point? I kind of like WMLW as an independent and I have zero interest in The CW...

Interesting... Wonder if Weigel would then launch a 9pm News on WMLW? I don't know about the CW, but I know WB encouraged their affiliates to have a 9p news.

Sorry, you are wrong. It is on analog channel 7. Not a bad place next to 4, 5 (58) and 6.

Not on my cable box! I'm in Racine and channel 7 is WLS-TV in Chicago. WMLW is in the 500s!!!

On the Milwaukee / suburbs it's on 7 everywhere. We are not in a WLS-TV coverage area. WMLW is a Milwaukee station.

In Milwaukee, Waukesha and I think the northern (Ozaukee and company) counties it's on ch 7 (or at least it was last time I was in Milwaukee). In Racine and I believe Kenosha counties, it's still on digital 541, which is where it was on the Milwaukee system, pre-move to 7 (at least I think it's 541).

I don't know if having news on WMLW-CA would even be wise, considering they already have news on 58. I know in the South Bend Indiana market, Weigel doesn't even have news on any of their 3 LP stations, and one of their lp stations is an ABC affiliate, along with a WB affiliate on the second one. I don't see Weigel adding news on 41, if it became a CW affiliate. I don't know if they really wanted to put news on their CBS station.

In Sheboygan, Charter Cable has WMLW on channel 21.

Is that why it's call letters on WMLW? Duh! It's obviously all over the place depending on where you live.

I thought the ABC station had news... Could be wrong, though. I think the reason they do news on 58 is to make CBS happy. (Which is ironic, since the CBS O&O in Detroit doesn't even do news!!)

I should have made myself clear on this one. The ABC affiliate in South Bend airs the national news, but not local news. Besides the ABC affiliate doesn't even cover the entire market. I don't know the situation with WDJT, if that's something that CBS made Weigel have a local news staff, or if it were their choice.
Edited by dave73 on 03/05/06 08:28 AM.
