WCIT,"Lima's Greatest Hits."

Hey...I'm glad somebody at Maverick took my suggestion and that they brought back 940 WCIT. (My suggestion a while back was "940 Oldies"...so this is just what I've been hoping for!) Was listening on and off throughout the week on my car radio and online. I'm pleasantly surprised they brought the callsign back..I coudn't believe PBJ's post about this change at first so my apoligies to him.

Was also listening when Lima's sports guy Vince Koza was broadcasting live from a parish festival on Friday afternoon. He still has his "Sports Talk with Koza" on 93.1 where ESPN moved to. Koz said on the air that the change took place this past Monday and I started listening on Wednesday.

Would love to hear some other DJs on there if possible...not just Phil Austin in the morning. Although its automated, the jingles and liners are tight...just like what Top 40 used to be...and the audio processing comes doggone close to that of The Big 8.

When I was a teenager I remember Bill Appel in the morning on WCIT...wonder if any of the old 'CIT crew still lives in or near Lima. Haven't heard Gordy Price on for a long time since CC's buzzsaw dumped him among others on T-102. Gordy would be a natural for this station (he worked the afternoon shift there in 1974 I think) and would be a great mid-day/early afternoon go-between Phil Austin and Talk with Ron...the rest can be automated with some part time voice trackers.

Like the Koz says: "I LUV IT!!!!"

Thanks Maveick Media for the wise choice.

I think its great they brought back WCIT. I know who suggested the idea in the first place, and it really works.

WCIT website has been updated..looks really cool and professional. Like the animated LP and turntable logo.

Currently their weekend programming includes Steve Goddard's 70s show and Goddard's Gold. Great show, but also hope they can eventually add other weekend programs as Cool Bobby B's Doo Wop Stop and Glenn Sauter's Hits of Yesteryear.

Little Walter's Time Machine would also be perfect for evenings and/or weekends.

I know that's a big order since the oldies format has been on now for just a month but it's something I hope Phil Austin may want to consider as the format (I hope) gains mometum in Lima. I can pick up 940 as far south as Piqua and as far north as Findlay and Carey on my car radio despite its direction pattern. A stong signal also in Sidney,Wapak and Bellefontaine when it's on full power.

Bring back Gordy Price!

Thanks for the audiostream too Phil.

I wish WCIT my best!
