WCKG

I've posted similar comments elsewhere, but looking in from far away, could it be possible that dopey shows that don't meet the format are causing the mediocrity (ratingswise only) at WCKG? I'm curious what the thinking is at stations like 'CKG, 'KRK in Detroit, etc., that clear Bill O'Reilly presumably for the sole argument that "he's on parent net WW1".

Is not Tom Leykis parent of WW1? Don and Mike? Wouldn't these hosts make more sense for late nights on 105.9? While Leykis did peak awhile ago (pre-format tweaks, mind you), so did O'Reilly. The days of the network having to hold him up with their continual press releases claiming "100% top-100 market clearance" is over... I can think of four top-40 markets he's not on in. Leykis and D&M might be on more stations if the format worked in Scranton, PA like news-talk does.

Is the WCKG programming braintrust having O'Reilly forcefed down their throats?

O'Reilly is hardly being forcefed, he's on from 9-11pm when NOBODY is listening to 'CKG. As a matter of fact, except for HOWARD and Stever, the current interim "braintrust" and the rest of Chicago probably doesn't even know what's on that mess of a station. Speaking of O'Reilly's show, on too many occasions 'CKG has run week old programs due to "sattelite problems". Sad thing is I'm the only one who's noticed it.

Don and Mike, Tom Leykis and that old lady IMUS wouldn't cut it in Chicago. Too phony baloney. Mancow is enough thank you.

Not forcefed to the listener, forcefed to the station. As in, Infinity didn't give them a choice.

Why would they flip WCKG to oldies when they had a perfectly good oldies station already running? Doesn't make sense.

Did you thank Steve Dahl for your nickname?

Shhhhhh...swalve

> Did you thank Steve Dahl for your nickname?

Don't tell anybody what it means, and don't tell Stever. He's very protective of his intelectual property.
