WCKL Silent Again

WCKL 560, Catskill is once again listed as Licensed and silent as of May 31 2005. , Licensed to: Black United Fund of NY. They must have had a 1 year deal with Clear Channel To simulcast first ,WBPM 92.9 and more recently WZMR, 93.5 just to keep the license active. I had noticed when I was up that way the signal was terrible, sounding scratchy and off frequency. So now what? Why would a group buy a station, have it for 2 years now but have no programming for it? Why if as their name implies, they had intended to broadcast aimed at Blacks did they buy such a rural station?

Funny - I was surprised at how well their daytime signal reaches Albany. A couple times this spring, I drove around the city listening to 560. You'd think they could do something with that -
