WCKM CAR SHOW COVERAGE

Last weekend was the lake George Adirondack nationals car show; this is a huge event that draws thousands of car enbthusiasts to the Area. WCKM has been the official radio station of the show and has been since 1991. This is the way live and local radio should be: out at the show and car cruises, interviewing the car owners, asking them about their participation and cars, and generally being totally involved. Live and local. Plus back at the station, the dj was playing some really great stuff: beach boys, car songs, 50's and 60's, and some really great nuggets that I haven't heard in a long time. Johnny and the Hurricane's "revelie rock" !!!! Stuff they used to play all the time, (sigh)....

Also, had Croaker's saturday night request/ dedication show on at the house; another great, well produced show with an enthusiastic DJ who was obviously having fun. Good tunes called in by great listeners....good job, dave!!! ;D

I see that the new management has also kept Kip Grant's great gold show on saturday am....another plus...

Now if they could get all the stinkers out of the music mix and get back to the good stuff we'd have something. I won't even start on the morning "club"

Overall kudos and great job by a station that still knows how to do it right....

warm590/ 590 buddy ;D

All in all an amazing feat for a station that didn't exist in 1991.

I was going to say the same thing! Also, "take the stinkers out of the playlist" and you will eliminate 60% of their format....
