WCKY Transmitter Site Fire

What benefit does CC have to claim that there was a fire at the transmitter site if there wasn't?

I can assure you that there was a fire at the WCKY transmitter site. The room was still very toasty when I got there. The Villa Hills fire department came in to finish putting out the fire that our staff couldn't. A couple of fire extinguishers were emptied out but the fire kept going.

The station was put back on the air within an hour of the fire. The station is running at reduced power due to the damage caused by the fire. We are also running it on an alternate tower. Parts are arriving daily and we will soon restore the station to its former glory.

Cause of the fire????? The fire department thinks an exhaust fan froze up and started shooting sparks.... ceiling caught fire. The heat was intense enough to melt wires inside coduits.

For all the doubters out there I have posted photos at http://www.cincyradiotech.com

Any roofers out there?

So that explains the flickering "tuned" indicator. Exactly how long will it be before WCKY is at 50,000 watts again?

Perhaps there are some who doubted that there actually was a fire. The most absurd aspect of all this however is the insinuation that it may have been set by Republicans who didn't want listeners to hear Randi Rhodes interview Paul Hackett. WCKY has virtually no listeners anyway. What a lame attempt by Randi Rhodes and some of the posters here to stir it up.

If Jerry Springer hadn't been burning George Bush in effigy this would never have happened! But it's really George Bush's fault, because if he wasn't such a right wing kook, Jerry wouldn't have had to burn him in effigy! Play me some Spin Doctors!!!
