WCLI Enon

You sure about that?

FCC info still agknowleges WKSW as official callsign.(see Wikipedia external links)

Did a WCLI callsign search on FCC website and came up with "0 records retreived."

Either they are doing the same thing the current owners of WUCO in Marysville calling it "WQTT" or the info hasn't been changed on account of the government shutdown possibility.

110% sure limp73! Check out the FCC Call Sign desk at licensing.fcc.gov/prod/callsign/main.html. It states that they started using the calls on 4/8/2011, which was yesterday. I remember searching for the WCLI calls right after Click launched and it said that the calls weren't available, but all of the fields required were blank, so I figured that would be the new 101.5 calls. Now if you type in WCLI, it will say that the call sign is NOT available, and that it was registered to Main Line on 4/8/2011. Also, if you type in the WKSW calls, it will say that they are available.

Alan's right:

Call Sign WCLI is not available.
Call Sign Service Fac ID City State Effective Date Assigned To
WCLI-FM FM 10113 ENON OH 04/08/2011 MLB-DAYTON IV, LLC

The CDBS database often lags behind a couple of days when call signs change. The CDBS still lists it as WKSW...

I always go straight to the FCC Call Sign Desk when researching call sign/call letter changes. I'm not sure what the CDBS is, but i've never used it.

Actually, this indicates the call sign is WCLI-FM rather than WCLI. If they are identifying as "WCLI", they are in violation of the FCC Identification rules--assuming the above is accurate.

Check out the WKSW call letters the day of the station launch and it said they were were not available.

Who is incorrect here? Ohio Media Watch?

CDBS is the main FCC database. It's where FM Query, AM Query and TV Query get their information.

As noted, it takes call sign changes a few days to reflect in CDBS.

As of last Saturday, the calls were still WKSW during a http://licensing.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/cdbs_pa.htm search , but the call letter history for WKSW on that date showed this:

Call Sign History
Current Call Sign: WCLI-FM
Facility ID Number: 10113
Call Sign Begin Date
WCLI-FM 04/08/2011
WKSW 03/31/1985
WCOM-FM 06/01/1979
WCOMFM

Yep, they're identifying themselves on-air as "WCLI-FM, Enon".

gabigley1...The calls for Click on the day they launched were WKSW/Enon...I know that. It was the first thing that they played when they switched on the new frequency. What I was saying was that the day that Click launched, I was searching for different calls that would include the word "Click", such as WCLK(Taken), as well as WCLI, which looked like it was parked. There was no description to WHO the call sign belonged to, but WCLI was showing up as NOT available. I figured this would eventually be the call sign, but I wasn't 100% sure at the time. Hopefully this will clear things up.

Yes, but "WKSW" showed as "not available" during the day of their launch. Maybe that database wouldn't have showed the WKSW as available until April 8th? Not sure exactly how that works or what the FCC protocol is for stations that are applying for call letter that are pending to be changed. Was introduced to that call letter search 'tool' by the Ohio Media Watch, so a tip of the hat goes to them.

Was Clueless at the time as to what call letters WKSW had in mind for their new format. Someone suggested Main Line was going to exchange and swap call letters among the stations in the group. Of course, that didn't pan out, as we all know.

Yeah, when I said "Alan was right", I was referring to the WCLI-FM calls vs. the WKSW calls, not making the distinction between WCLI and WCLI-FM because I was only comparing to the WKSW calls.

Wonder if Kent State University will pick up WKSW for their Wooster repeater, now WKRW? :D

The WKSW calls weren't available the day of the launch, Friday, March 25, 2011. I remember checking the FCC Call Sign Desk that day.
The WCLI-FM call sign said it was "Not Available" but all the fields that are usually filled in were blank.

If the WKSW calls are now available,an LPFM license should be applied for in Urbana using those calls. The same should apply for the old WAZU calls (if available) for an LPFM in Springfield.

WCOM and WBLY's calls are not available, they are used at LPFMs elsewhere.
