WCMC Weather Voice/ Call Letter Inlays

Usually when I tune to WCMC I hear a gentleman doing the locally inserted weather. Who is it? He never gives his name. I assume it's a board op. I would like to know why CMC does not use the call letter inlay that is triggered by the satellite jock. This voice comes out of nowhere and just starts the backsell...no ID of the station. What a missed opportunity. I worked for a station that was running "AM Only" during non-drive periods. We had uptempo and down tempo call letter inlays and a TOH ID all triggered via satellite. While any radio person could spot it a mile away, it did fool most listeners and I can't imagine why WCMC, or any station, would not do this.....Other than not wanting to spend money LOL. And when was THAT ever a reason!

I can completely back-up what you are stating. One station I worked for had the WW1 "AM Only" system as well and the overall imaging was pretty damn good considering it was mostly automated. At the time our weathers needed to be exactly :20 seconds to cover-up the "network" promo. Actually...LOL...there were times when it was slightly more and joined a song a few seconds/lyrics in. That part always made me laugh, much like the fact that we would get calls and emails that requested that Jeff Rollins play a song for them :-D

I'm actually headed "Down the Shore" as they say this week and will have a chance to catch WCMC. Are they WW1 Standards like WMID used to be?? I heard the folks of Wildwood won the war when they got their Standards back. I guess I'll have to personally see what all the Hulla-Baloo was about.

And Imagine that...Here in 2005 a station not wanting to spend money $$ :-D $$
