WCMC?

Why does WCMC have the same audio quality as Ocean City's travelers information station? I know it's satellite and the lowest rung on Equity's ladder, but come on!

I noticed it was somewhat distorted myself. Not oarticularly overmodulated, but overdriven somewhere in the audio chain. I also noticed the signal is very good lately. I listened clearly on the AC Xway near the Rowan exit last Sunday. That's a long haul for 1Kw inland.

It's a shame. WCMC has a great signal for a Kw that high on the dial, thanks to an excellent transmitter location and probably a well tuned antenna. But I agree, for a station with a state of the art BE transmitter, the audio is deplorable. Don't know if it's a processing issue, a studio link issue or just a board loaded with worn out caps back at the studio.... Guess their thinking is that it's only AM with a bunch of old geezers listening. Their loyal listeners deserve better and CMC needs to treated better than the proverbial red headed stepchild. Shame on them. Wish I had the money to take it off their hands!
