WCME 900

What's the latest on WCME-AM in Brunswick? The wikipedia page is very detailed, but doesn't lay out the "future" of the station. As a soon to be transplant from Southern Maine, I'm curious if I will have a "source for midcoast news" by the time I move into town in September. And if you guys need volunteers...

Thanks for your inquiry--I'm heading up First Wave Media..owner of Radio 9...WCME. We did some on-air testing this spring and are now in the process of finalizing permanent tower arrangements. We expect to be on the air in the fall and yes...we do plan to provide hourly local and regional news for the Midcoast. And that's just the beginning. Thanks again for your interest--do appreciate it.

Look forward to having WCME back on the air. Thanks for the update, Jim.
Still listen to you on WCBS overnights with the Wall Street Journal.

Got a soft spot for 'CME; it was my first full-time radio gig. We won't go in to how long I stuck it out.

When did you work at 'CME? I was there full-time from Aug. '66 to Dec. '69. Did our paths cross?
