WCME faces the Board

Radio goings on in Brunswick, Maine as WCME-AM tries to find a home stick. World's quickest article summary: The Planning Board is all confused about why Saga won't let WCME on the WCLZ tower (WCME predecessor WJJB shared the CLZ tower on River Road). Some on the board seem to think they can force Saga to allow CME on the tower. None have a good understanding of AM technology. Good read - best of luck to the owners of 'CME...

maybe the planning board would better understand when the Bath town council asks to use the Brunswick town hall for all of its business and meeting purposes. simple enough analogy?

I don't think that analogy would help much. The planning board dialogue reads like a British sitcom, although I suppose it's only funny to people with engineering knowledge. I just wish they'd hurry up and approve the dang tower while we can still buy AM radios. And while my resume is still fresh. :)

By the way, politicians should really look up the definition of "leading". While guy wires DO cause bird deaths, they're far from the leading cause... According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife department, these are the leading human influenced killers of birds:

1. glass windows
2. house cats
3. autos
4. transmission lines
5. agriculture
6. logging/land development
And then down here at number 7:
Telecommunication towers

Not exactly leading the pack.
