WCNA 95.9 has flipped to Oldies

sometime in the past couple weeks 95.9 has flipped to Oldies/Classic Hits as Kool 95.

WCNA and WFTA are two of the best sounding station on air that I have heard in a very long time. What are they using for processing.
It's amazing to once again hear something above about 10k on FM. It's pretty clean too. Very nice L/F separation without the stereo image sounding too wide or fake also.

The secret to the processing is: Gene Sisk. 50+ years tuning radio stations.
They have the same processors at 96.1 in Starkville.

Glenn is correct .Almost black magic...too many variables. Good to hear you Mr. James...to the good times... and I hope Gene is doing well. JBI

They both sound the best I have heard them sound right now.

I found myself listening to songs I don't care for just to see how what the processing was going to do to them. I can't remember doing that in many years now.

There are a ton of horrible sounding stations in the south (especially in Mississippi) yet a tiny handful of stations in the state sound unbelievably good.

I haven't really been close enough to 96.1 in a long time to really analyze the audio chain there. Years ago I thought it was nothing special but that could be just because of it being off a bird.

Wish I could hear it!! The worst stations in the south are in Louisiana! 100.7 The Tiger ( current country) is the absolute worst I have ever heard! Sounds like a 48k internet broadcast! Most stations are severly overmodulated down here. Up in Ms there are some really good sounding stations.

95.9 developed some issues over the past week. It didn't not sound so good on Thursday. The balance was way off everything waa mostly the right channel.
