WCOC Dora is officially kaput.

Just saw in the digest today that Azteca Communications has turned in the license for 1010 WCOC in Dora. It was on the air not too long ago, probably to keep the license active, but that was the last I'd heard about it. I think the studio and TX site were way beyond repair after a lengthy silent period.

This comes on the heels of several other AMs going dark in Alabama. Prior stations include WKXM in Winfield (the FM survives) as well as WZGX in Bessemer and WJHX Lexington.

Well,it was always a challenge trying to get usable airchecks
during the 2 or 3 days it was on every year.
