WCOJ spinning door revolves again

Goodbye Matt DeFazio. They plucked you off the sidewalk to host the morning show, now they've tossed your can back onto the pavement. Oh Matt, we hardly knew thee (except to say that you were not talented).

[EDIT]

[EDIT-Inflammatory]

Maybe Matt was smart enough to leave on his own.
Yup, the same office staff dude back on the air today with "WCOJ's First Edition," featuring stories about his sleeping disorder.  Spare us!

Ok, it has been a couple of weeks now and the sad news is that it appears the person had I pegged as an "office staff" guy who took over for DeFazio is WCOJ's pick as a permanent replacement!!

This guy JT, is more pathetic than the last stiff to sit in the seat. So much so it would cruel and inhumane to criticize him because there is no level of professional standards under which he operates. This guy makes Henson sound like Edward R. Murrow.

Is it not the basic radio theory for a radio station to put its best foot forward and present its "A-team" on the morning drive?. Under this premise, Henson or Ron's Swap Shop should then be WCOJ's morning drive offering then, right?

Before you beat this new morning guy up too much, remember, there are very few places now where people can get experience and learn. I"m sure not one of you armchair programmers was totally polished when you started,, or even flawless in your last shift. Maybe this guy has no one to work with him to help him improve. So many times on these boards we complain about there being no farm team,,, well the farm team is here,, hopefully someone will step up and be the coach.

If WCOJ management is comfortable with presenting this programming as the best that they can offer listeners in morning drive, and if any advertisers are interested in spending money on it...they should knock themselves out. These comments are not meant to personally target whomever the latest schlump is in the WCOJ am drive chair, but are directed more toward the management decision to put them there.

650AM hit the nail on the head -- It's not that people shouldn't be able to learn by doing in radio, it's just the fact that this is supposed to be the daypart that sells local advertising. It should be the daypart that gives the station it's image. When you wake up in the morning, and hear someone stumbling through reading news scripts, it sets a bad tone for the rest of the station.

If they want this guy to learn, hire someone experienced, and let him learn by watching, and contributing a segment or two here and there. Don't just plop him down in the chair and say "Ok kid, here you go". That's a recipe for disaster.
